# How long will each LanguageScreen assessment take?

Each LanguageScreen assessment takes about 10 minutes to complete. LanguageScreen has been reprogrammed and streamlined by introducing discontinuation rules for each activity.  This means that if a child gets multiple items wrong on a particular activity the child is simply moved on to the next activity.  This reduces the time taken to test children, with most effect for children with particularly weak language skills. We hope this will make the process quicker and easier for schools to use.
